of the weekly vinyl vibes club night in cologne/germany
, karsten john has been its resident dj and promoter from
the very beginning. for more than 5 years vinyl vibes
now is the place to be in colognes fast moving nightlife
and not only regularly joined by a huge crowd of dancers
and like minded music lovers, but also by some of the
finest djs worldwide like rainer truby, nicola conte,
kyoto jazz massive or jazzanova to name just a few.
karstens work as a jazz dj started in the mid 90s with
a residency at a clubnight called "shack attack"
and guests spots at the mojo club sessions. during the
last years it has also regularly led him to events and
clubs all over europe, including the well respected velure/dublin,
jazzrooms/brighton, soulsugar/vienna, into somethin`/munich,
crate soul pressure/budapest and many others.
to date he has produced two remixes, for the mojo club
(the remix album/some essential pieces/universal) and
vienna scientists (freedom satellite - soul samba - the
remixes). credits on several compilations document the
fact that his extraordinary record collection has often
been a source for other djs and compilers to make amazing
discoveries.
