Already an absolute term in Berlin`s fast changing
nightlife, the liveDEMO crew and concept is now
spreading over germany. After a great party in
Hamburg this fall (with Ty
performing amongst others) it`s now time for the
first liveDEMO to take place in Cologne at Stadtgarten
+ Studio672 on December 2nd.
One of the most interesting things about liveDEMO
is and has always been the combination of unique
artists unlikely to hit a stage together elsewhere,
all backed up by a set of great musicians to make
it a party hard to forget. So if you`re fancy
witnessing todays top soul voices next to exquisit
german raps and a raw mashup of hiphop and electro
this one is for you. Not to forget the bunch of
DJ`s taking care of your dancing needs before,
in between and after. Come by or tune in!

 Neo-soul
singer/songwriter/producer Dwele grew up on Detroit's
west side, listening to soul music from Motown visionaries
Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye as well as jazz on the radio.
Born Andwele Gardner, he began writing songs at the age
of ten and unleashed his first demo tape "The Rize"
in 1998. It caused quite a stir in Motor City and lead
to collaborations with Detroit hip-hop group Slum Village
and Philadelphia rapper Bahamadia amongst others. Signed
to Virgin on the strength of his songwriting and performance
skills, Dwele released his debut album "Subject"
in mid-2003 and cemented his appeal with European audiences
with a tour that summer. His second album, Some Kinda,
followed in 2005. |

 Everything
goes as long as it is exciting and sizzles under the
booties: deep and freaky bass lines, distorted metallic
sounds plus twisted&filtered funk rhythms. On top
Ono raps with precise tongue artistry, cutting rhymes
and masterly flow. Far away from just being "another
hip mashup" the sound of dataMC is more than just
hiphop meets elektro. Its a rough and wild sound clash
also drawing from funk, rock, metal and punk, with some
references to UK Sound grime.
From the beginning dataMC put much emphasize on their
live act and, as a band without finished album and recording
contract, they have been amazingly successful. As support
act of The Roots, Dizzee Rascal, Talib Kweli, Lyrics
Born, Spank Rock, Roots Manuva, K-OS and Dälek
they toured several German cities and performed live
on stage with UK top act TY. |

 Was
soll man ueber Dende noch gross Worte verlieren - er
ist und bleibt halt unser liebster Muttersprachsrapper
- Wortwitz -und Schatz suchen auch in nullsechs immernoch
ihresgleichen.
Nach ungetoppter Sportstunde, gefährlichem Halbwissen
und dem Schweigen Dilemma wurde es verdächtig ruhig
um Hr. Larusso, so nach dem Motto kurze Kreativpause
- nur um in diesem Jahr mit der Pfuetze des Eisbergs
allen Zweiflern gehoerig das Kielwasser abzugraben -
allerorten wird geklatscht und man jubelt es geht DOCH
auf deutsch. Wir freuen uns ausserdordentlich auf Dende`Àngelo
und seine Raps jenseits von Aggro, Bitches und MV homieblabla.

Jaguar Wright

 Hell
hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially in the
case of fiery Philadelphia chanteuse Jaguar Wright.
Her second album, "Divorcing Neo to Marry Soul,"
is appropriately titled because it not only rids her
of the dreaded cloak of the manufactured category "neo-soul,"
but represents her musical and personal emancipation.
Drawing off influences like Ray Charles, Duke Ellington,
Etta James, Sarah Vaughn, Van Halen, The Doors and Bob
Dylan among others, a listen to "Divorcing Neo
to Marry Soul" clearifies that Jaguar is an advocate
for gut-wrenching soul music, and that's not about to
change.
"What I am is what I am. Most people come up with
a gimmic, and the only gimmick I have is that I am me.
Love it or hate it, hate it or love it. Everything I
do is based off of real life experiences. I'm eager
